Between the Dictator and Me
The film 'Entre el dictador y yo/Between the Dictator and Me' was one of the many activities that marked the 30th anniversary of Francisco Franco's death on 20 November 2005. The co-sponsors of Entre el dictador y yo asked six Spanish directors born after Franco's death to formulate their first impressions of the dictator and his regime in a short film. This article examines the significance of Entre el dictador y yo in the context of Spaniards' renewed interest in their more recent past.
